One protest group is taking a new approach to stomping around the streets with signs and bullhorns. Instead of battling the crowds and joining the throngs of other protesters, these guys are going to put anti-Republican messages on Jumbotrons, those really large television screens, and air them after the Convention, in time to catch departing attendees. I'm not sure if protesting via hate-messages on big screens around St. Paul sounds any more effective than waving ridiculous signs and crowding already-busy streets
The goal is to have pithy, witty and compelling messages laying out the problems in the Republican agenda, and outlining better alternatives, organizers say. [Snip]
Martha Ballou, a local attorney and ardent liberal activist, spoke about the plans Friday at a meeting of the Pat Roedler/Ruby Hunt issues forum, which meets weekly in West St. Paul.

Ballou, an unabashed Democrat who doesn't waffle with words, told the group of about 30: "Every bad guy in the world will be here — Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, gay-haters, immigration stoppers. They'll all be sitting in a bowl in St. Paul, and we do intend to engage them."
