Since we've got our nominee and are growing increasingly tired of watching Obama & Clinton claw at each other, the only thing left to speculate about is the Republican Vice Presidency. City Pages' (a local mag) blog has a few thoughts about why Minnesota's Governor Tim Pawlenty may be inching ever closer to that coveted spot:
Rasmussen has even set up a fake stock market that allows political junkies to bet on who they think will get the nod. So far, T-Paw is barely trailing Romney, who as previously mentioned, may not be a candidate McCain could live with:
From Rasmussen Markets (value reflects percentage chance)
Romney: 16.9%
Pawlenty: 16%
Rice: 7.9%
Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison: 5.9%
Former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani: 5%
Huckabee: 5%
Supposedly McCain will be making his "choice" soon. If he chooses the Gov., having the convention here in his home town, may be al the more fun for him--and us.
