The DNC recently unveiled their the "Going Green" portion of their web site which details all their efforts to make their convention, well, green. It's obvious that, in general, Democrats have cornered the green market, as it were. They are more passionate, or at least more vocal, about the issue. While Republicans have been busy touting limited government and lowering taxes (for the most part), Democrats have been busy buzzing about global warming and saving the earth (again, just in general terms).

However, while they can be given dues for being a bit more vocal about protecting the earth and its resources, Republicans haven't been completely silent on the issue, they (specifically the RNC) are doing things to 'make their convention green' as well. On top of that, the DNC has some major discrepencies in their green campaig. For some sects of liberals (like Hollywood figures) 'saving the earth' is all talk and no show.' (I'm not saying Republicans don't struggle with hypocrisy, as well, they do, just on different subjects, and on a different level. More on that later.)

The majority of Hollywood stars are liberal Democrats, and some of these stars will be going to the Democratic National Convention (read: Michael Moore). These are the same people who think average citizens should recycle, drive hybrids and do whatever they can to lower their carbon footprint, but who meanwhile own large, expensive, homes and travel around in private jets, not cars (though they may likely own hybrids as well.)

Specifically, as I've pointed out before, the person in charge of making the Democrat's convention green, (Andrea Robinson) is the same person who was the "Greening Director" for Live Earth, a 24-hour rock concert which hosted lear-jet-flying stars like Madonna who encouraged listeners to save the earth by going green. It doesn't make sense.

I'm not saying all liberals are all talk and no show on this subject, or that the DNC's efforts aren't plausible or shouldn't be applauded just because there are some hypocrites in the midst, but with such vocal efforts ("Look at our web site, we're really going green this time!") I had to point out the blatant fallacies.
