St. Paul Police Dept asked the city for permission to buy 230 additional tasers--a total cost of $210,000. While police want to use them because they believe it's "effective and probably safer for both the police officer and the person who's being arrested," protest groups are worried they are being ordered just in time to be used on them for the Republican National Convention.
Despite assurances from the police that this is not the case, this protest group is jumping the gun and thinks police brutality is just getting under way for the convention this fall. That may be premature, but one thing's for sure, if police receive their tasers before protest groups receive their permits, it could make for quite a show
