In a strange turn of events, the Democratic National Convention Committee has chosen their mascot for the convention--a donkey--out of a group of donkeys which were shown at the National Western Stock Show in Denver.

My favorite part? The donkey's name is Mordecai, a Biblical character in the book of Esther, of the tribe of Benjamin. He was a man of character and dignity. Certainly no ass.
